Mum dies after being left in coma for 33 years in car crash & never knowing her baby was killed in same accident
A MUM has died after being left in a coma for 33 years from a horrific car crash that killed her baby girl in Italy.
In 1992, 27-year-old Luigina Brustolin fell into a three-decade-long coma after a horror car accident that also resulted in the death of her one-year-old daughter.
Now at 60 years old, having spent over half of her life in a coma in Treviso, Italy, Luigina has passed away.
Her family confirmed: "After all this time, she has joined her little girl."
The mum, who worked in a shoe factory, had been driving her Golf on the day of the crash with her little girl in the back seat.
She had only been married a mere few years before the horror crash, and a mum for less than two.

On May 23, 1992, a 46-year-old in a Nissan Primera, and Luigina with her baby girl in the back seat, crashed into one another from opposite directions.
Luigina was said to have suffered a head injury following the horror smash, and, after various operations, she remained in a coma for over three decades.
Baby Sara was transported to hospital in serious condition following the crash but tragically passed away a month later.
It remains unknown what exactly happened when the two cars collided, with the crash only having one alleged witness who could never be tracked down.

Luigina's husband and Sara's dad, Franco, recalled the unimaginable ordeal he endured.
He told local media: "I lost everything and my life changed completely."
Franco eventually found a new partner and had two children from the marriage.
The kids are now 25 and 23 years old, according to reports.
Franco said that his children knew Luigina heartrendingly as "Aunt Luigina".
He confessed that when he started a "new life," it "didn't go down well with some people" - but he maintains that he "never abandoned Luigina".
Franco said: "On Saturdays and Sundays I brought her to my house.
"For my children, who were small, she was simply Aunt Luigina.
"The last time I visited her was a month ago."
After the tragic accident, Luigina's mum cared for her at home for 17 years before she got transferred to an institution that specialised in caring for the elderly and disabled.
