As Dry January comes to an end, try these products to help look after your liver
DRY January will soon be over for those observing it – but while millions will enjoy a celebratory drink, it is also worth thinking about liver health.
The liver filters blood, stores nutrients and fights infection.
You can look after it by eating a healthy diet, exercising and limiting your alcohol intake.
There are also products that can help. I put some of them to the test . . .
PLANTS
DR VEGAN’s Debloat & Detox tablets are a natural product using ingredients known for thousands of years to help detox the body – milk thistle, fennel seeds, dandelion root, artichoke leaf, schisandra berry and burdock root powder.
Glutamine, an amino acid playing a vital role in the liver, helps to detoxify ammonia and regulate pH balance.

TEA
FAR from just your English breakfast tea, Myla’s Moss Liver Cleanse contains seven organically grown herbs including the antioxidant dandelion, and St John’s Wort which is known for its anti-inflammatory properties to help improve liver function.
As well as all this, there’s fennel seeds, mint for digestion, hibiscus which has diuretic properties, and rosehip shells which are an antioxidant.
The tea contains zero chemicals or synthetic ingredients.
CAPSULES
I LOVE Davina Taylor’s products from her firm Willpowders, and Rise & Shine Indulgence Recovery is another clever idea.
It contains powerful liver-supporting products that sound terrifying but are natural and detoxifying – amino acid N-acetyl cysteine, a salt called calcium d-glucarate, trace mineral moly-bdenum and milk thistle extract.
There’s also trace mineral sodium molybdate, vitamins C and B6 plus a coenzyme called NADH which helps your metabolism.
All together, it’s a brilliant product.
If I‘m having some drinks on a night I now have three of these beforehand, and the same afterward.
They are like miracle pills and hugely reduce hangover symptoms.

But they are good for non boozers, too, just helping to look after the liver.
