Asda urgently recalls George baby product over choking fears & warns parents to ‘immediately’ stop using it

ASDA is urgently recalling a George baby product over chocking fears & warns parents to "immediately" stop using it.

The product is intended for toddlers to give them "extra stability when learning to walk".

After concerns a George Home Baby Wales posed "a risk of choking", Asda recalled the item on January 14.

The supermarket revealed it has "the potential" to release a "metal bar used to hold the mirror and balls in place".

The supermarket has urged anyone with the product to "please stop using it immediately".

And return it to their nearest Asda store.

"You do not need a receipt", the retailer added.

The affected barcode is: "5063089161265".

An Asda spokesperson said: "We have found that in a small number of cases, this product may pose a risk of choking due to the potential release of the metal bar used to hold the mirror and balls in place.

"If you have purchased a George Home Baby Walker - barcode 5063089161265 - please stop using it immediately and bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a refund. You do not need your receipt.

"We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. If you would like any further information, please contact Asda Customer Relations – 0800 952 0101."

It comes after both Asda and Sainsbury's issued an urgent recall over a batch of McGhee's Family Bakers 6 Scottish Brown Rolls.

The supermarkets urged soya allergy sufferers not to consume the product due to a "packaging error" that could pose a "possible health risk".

Food Standards Scotland (FSS) has also alerted Brits of the recall of McGhee's Family Bakers 6 Scottish Brown Rolls, as several packs were shipped including white rolls which do contain soya.

In a  on January 10 the agency said: " are recalling packs of 6 Scottish Brown Rolls.

"Due to a packaging error, several packs include white rolls which contain soya.

"This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to soya."

ffected batches are those that have a best before date of 12 January, 2025, and batch number LS5007.

FSS added: "This product may contain soya making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to soya.

"If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to soya do not eat it.

"Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund."
