NHS bosses have urged Brits not to be lured by “potentially deadly” Brazilian butt-lifts in the Boxing Day sales.

Medics have warned women not to be swayed by festive “BBL” discounts of up to 25 per cent at the unregulated clinics in Turkey.

They say the procedure, which sees fat from another part of the body injected into the bum, can lead to blocked veins and infected wounds if a blunder is made.

Some practitioners inject lip filler instead of fat, further raising the risks.

Many Brits have fallen badly ill.

NHS England said discounts were already being offered online.

Medical director Professor Sir Stephen Powis warned: “Many people’s social media feeds will be full of enticing offers in the run-up to Christmas, but these bargain basement cosmetic procedures are potentially deadly.”

Professor Vivien Lees, of the Royal College of Surgeons, called for urgent regulation and tougher rules for foreign clinics that advertise in Britain.
