RISHI Sunak has admitted the Government have failed on their pledge to get NHS waiting lists down - but sought to blame strikers for making it worse.
Confronted by Piers Morgan, the PM admitted: “We have not made enough progress."
In an hour long sit down for TalkTV filmed in 10 Downing Street, Piers slammed Sunak over his own mother’s treatment in a Brighton hospital that left her on a trolley after suffering a heart attack.

“Nobody fixed it. At one stage, no nurse came for three or four hours.
“There were between, she reckons, 35 and 40 other people on trolleys in the corridors of this A&E, most of them elderly without people.
“She said old men were begging for bottles to urinate into, others were crying in pain or discomfort.
“She said it was a scene out of a warzone. And she couldn't believe what she was seeing.”

The PM responded that it was “a shocking story" and admitted “its not good enough the performance in A&E and ambulance waiting times.”
Mr Sunak made getting waiting lists down one of his five key priorities in January 2023, but admitted that pledge has yet to be hit.

He added: “We all know the reasons for that and what I would say to people is look we've invested record amounts in the NHS, more doctors, more nurses, more scanners.
"All these things mean that the NHS is doing more today than it ever has been.
“But industrial action has had an impact. And in November we had a month where there was no strikes for the first time.
"And you know what happened to the waiting list? They fell by almost 100,000.”
But accepting waiting lists would be rising - all be it slower - without rolling industrial action in the NHS, the PM added “its not good enough.”
