What is Viagra Connect and does it work?
ERECTILE dysfunction happens to around half of men but some feel embarrassed by the condition.
Fear of judgement leaves many avoiding the doctor, meaning for years they are unable to get medication.
In recent years this has changed, however, as more options have been made available over the counter.
Earlier this month, a type of Cialis was made available at Boots stores across the country without a prescription.
It came after health chiefs ruled it safe to use without seeing a GP in March.
Most men are more familiar with Viagra, however, with around 15 per cent of British blokes trying the little blue pill at some point in their lives.
Now, they are able to get the drug without having to see a doctor, saving time.
What is Viagra Connect?

The drug can help men who struggle “getting it up” by increasing blood flow to the penis.
Is Viagra Connect as good as Viagra?
Viagra Connect is available in 50mg versions, while you can get Viagra in up to a 100mg per pill prescription.
While in theory Viagra Connect works just as well as Viagra in 50mg doses, it is less strong than the 100mg version.
However, depending on your needs, this may be more useful for you.
How long does Viagra Connect last?
Viagra Connect lasts up to four hours, helping aid a firmer and longer lasting erection.
It works in around two thirds of cases but is less effective after eating a large meal.
Experts recommend trying it eight times to see if it works for you.
Does Viagra Connect work instantly?
The drug takes around an hour to kick in.
However, it will not work if you’re not sexually aroused and does not solve the underlying causes of erectile dysfunction.
Alcohol can also reduce how well it works and delay its effects.
Who cannot take Viagra Connect?
Viagra Connect is not recommended for anyone aged under 18, women or men without erection problems.
The drug can also interact with other medications, so if you’re taking regular pills it’s best to check with your doctor or pharmacist if Viagra Connect is for you.
It is also unsuitable for men with health conditions including heart disease, high blood pressure or an irregular heart beat.
