I’m a dermatologist – here’s 2 ways to banish wrinkles WITHOUT breaking the bank
FROM fine lines to crows feet, many of us spend much time thinking about the visible signs of ageing emerging on our face.
This often means we're driven to spend lots of money trying to banish the dreaded lines.
But as the cost-of-living continues to bite affordable skincare is more important than ever.
Many think Botox and filler are the answer to smooth skin, but both procedures require regular upkeep and additional costs.
And according to several dermatologists there's no need to break the bank in your pursuit of a smooth, age-less complexion.
There are two products you need to be using, according to the skin-experts.

1. Topical treatments
Treatments you can buy from your local pharmacy are usually the best bet in terms of cost-saving.
And instead of buying multiple items, try opting for a multi-use product like a like a retinol - which contains several ingredients including vitamin C.
"These ingredients can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone," registered dermatologist from Canada, Dr Solish Nowell, told the Sun.
Dr Christopher Tomassian, founder of in California, recommended using retinols three times a week as part of your nighttime skincare routine.

If you haven't used a retinol before, the dermatologist recommended starting off slow, using only a pea sized amount and moisturising before and after use.
If you're looking for an affordable product to get you started, the Ordinary has a few retinols to choose from, within different concentrations and all under £10.
You can also give the brand's granactive retinoid 2 per cent emulsion a whirl - it's less potent and it only costs £10.50.
2. Sun screen
Experts have been banging on about the benefits of SPF for quite some time now.
"Ultimately, the best way to reverse the signs of aging is to focus on preventative measures.
"This includes wearing an SPF daily, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, Dr Nowell said.
You should be applying sun cream every day, according to dermatologists - even if it's cloudy or overcast outside.
Aside from protecting our faces from the sun's harmful UV rays, the product can also act as a barrier against the blue light on our screens.
However, not all sun creams are made equal.
Consultant dermatologist Dr Derrick Phillips said it's important to look for an SPF which protects you from UVA and UVB rays.
He told the Sun: "As well as decreasing the risk of sunburn and premature ageing, wearing an SPF decreases your risk of developing skin cancer and massively reduces your melanoma risk and any damage to your body including pigmentation and sunspots.
"SPFs are packed with an assortment of antioxidants and hydrating ingredients to soften and care for the skin as it protects.

"So, whilst your SPF is working hard to protect against UVA and UVB rays, the antioxidants inside are also helping to defend against the free radicals and environmental aggressors that we are all exposed to daily."
