I’m a psychologist – here’s three Love Islanders who are faking it

A PSYCHOLOGIST has given his brutal assessment of some of this year’s Love Island contestants.

Celebrity psychologist Dr Arthur Cassidy has watched the dramas unfold and has picked up on some dodgy behaviour from some of the islanders.

He suggests their feelings are driven by other motives - fame, narcissism and power - rather than genuine love.

It doesn’t take an expert to see through some personalities, and recognise many chancers on the show are there for fame and money.

But Dr Arthur says those playing games could be risking their place in the villa if they aren't careful.

Gemma

Gemma, the 19-year-old daughter of former England striker Michael Owen, didn’t make the best of impressions at the start of this year’s series.

Her evident lack of interest in Liam Llewellyn, 22, who walked out the show in the first week, left viewers squirming.

And although the youngest contestant has shown loyalty to her partner Luca Bish, 23, so far, some are still unconvinced she is genuine, and believe she is faking her feelings.

Dr Arthur said Gemma is one to “stay clear” of.

He said: “Gemma’s unseen motives became clear when this precocious late adolescent showed displays of social aggression and emotional turbulence.

“This demonstrates how fickle her intentions were towards Liam who expected Gemma to show a genuine interest in his education and intelligence, but Miss Owen was having none of it.”

Gemma had a brief romance with Italian stallion Davide Sanclimenti, 27, which flopped once Luca admitted his attraction to her.

Dr Arthur said: “The inaugural star of the show, Gemma radiates her uncontrollable narcissism towards any contestant who enters her close proximity but with this comes a red flag.”

Ekin-Su

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, 27, has been branded by fans as one of the most iconic cast members in Love Island in history.

But Dr Arthur highlights “egocentric”, “fame-seeking” and “game-playing” behaviours.

He said: “Recent footage has shown fascinating insight as to how she uses her love motives and deep sexual attractiveness as part of her skillset to be the most sought after bombshell ever in the Villa.

“She exhibits a well thought out sense of control over others and wishes it to be known that she is more than just a highly competitive contestant.

“She will snatch away any Romeo even if he is in the arms of another woman.

"Ekin-Su has little empathy, is assertive, dominant and highly possessive, even if it's for a day or two.

“She plays (as they all do invariably so) to camera lights and action. She’s driven by an unending power motive to seek fame but the foolishness of this comes with high costs.”

Ekin-Su’s rollercoaster villa partner Davide, branded her “a liar and an actress” over her ruse to kiss Jay Younger, 28, on the terrace.

Departed Amber Beckford also accused Ekin-Su of “playing a game” which resulted in a fiery argument, with several girls taking Amber’s side.

Dr Arthur said: “Ekin-Su has now shown her fury triggered off by the former triangular alliance of Amber, Gemma and Paige.

“Gemma and Paige have been very aware of Ekin-Su’s pulling power and tenacious attitudes to the males.

"The result being that the girls' vulnerability has surfaced and they are counting the potential costs of Ekin-Su jeopardising their chances of falling in love with their own desired partner.

“The fact of the matter is that her egocentric personality traits have been now under threat by her villa peer group.”

But Dr Arthur said it was clear Ekin-Su was “easygoing and affectionate”, which she could channel in a more focused manner.

Jay

It didn’t take long for the ladies to swoon over Jay when he entered the villa, first capturing the heart of Ekin-Su, which led to a row days later.

Dr Arthur said: “Ekin -Su has now had an almighty traumatic bust up with Jay, who has betrayed her as his passions have become more than unleashed with Welsh paramedic Paige

“Jay appears to exhibit emotionally manipulative strategies as has Ekin-Su.”

Dr Arthur said manipulative strategies displayed by Jay and Ekin-Su are “an integral part of the science of sexual attraction”.

He said: “Sexual passion is located deeply in their covert power.

“Jay claims to respect Ekin-Su, but this is devoid of any reliability or validity.

“Respect means fidelity in the context of his 'feelings' for her.”
