A MIDWIFE has revealed exactly what happens when you have a coil inserted.
It's a procedure that can cause angst and worry, but Sarah Pringle makes it look super simple.
The prolific TikToker is a trained midwife and regularly posts about pregnancy and women's health.
In one video she uses a model to demonstrate what actually happens when a medic puts in an IUD.
In one swift movement she inserts the device into the uterus in a small tube.
She then gently pushes the IUD out of the top of tube while pulling it down.
As the coil pops out, the bars at the top open up into a T shape and the device is positioned.
The midwife removes the tube, leaving a string attached to the coil for removal, and the job is done.

In another video she demonstrated how it would be taken out - making it look almost painless.
Sarah penned over posted to TikTok: “Using a special tool, your provider will gently pull on the strings and pull out the IUD.
“Its arms will fold up as it slides out.”
When inserted correctly, an IUD is 99 per cent effective at preventing pregnancy.
It works by releasing copper to stop you getting pregnant - it is also known as a "copper coil" or "coil".
IUDs can only be taken out by trained professionals and once it's out you can get pregnant straight away.
An IUD is similar to the Mirena coil, but the main difference is that an IUD releases copper into your womb, and the Mirena coil releases the hormone progestogene.
The NHS states: "The copper alters the cervical mucus, which makes it more difficult for sperm to reach an egg and survive. It can also stop a fertilised egg from being able to implant itself.
"If you're 40 or over when you have an IUD fitted, it can be left in until you reach the menopause or you no longer need contraception."
