In a for Vogue, the mum-of-one, who released her new single Easy on Me last Friday, revealed her favourite order at McDonald’s - and that it would be her Death Row meal.

Adele said: “My last meal would be a McChicken Nugget, with a Big Mac and then fries - that's my three courses. I eat it at least once a week.

“Just because I lost weight, I [still] know everything there is to know about food! I eat so much food still.”

It may come as a shock to fans after watching her drop several dress sizes from her former glory days.

McDonald's is so often demonised as “junk food” that will sabotage a diet.

But, contrary to common belief, the fast-food favourite doesn’t need to be binned off while watching your weight.

Just eat it

One of Britain’s top nutritionists Graeme Tomlinson reminds his one million Instagram followers of this regularly.

The best selling author has a no-nonsense approach to healthy living by busting myths around diet culture and reminding people the best way to lose weight is the most sustainable way.

And if that means treating yourself to McDonald’s every so often, then so be it.

Heon his Instagram page : “Be sure to know that being overweight is not because of calorie dense fast food, but one’s management of it.

“Overall dietary intake, including portion selection and energy expenditure will dictate one’s inherent compositional outcomes.

“Not ‘a McDonald’s’.⁣⁣⁣⁣

“If you enjoy fast food, you must eat it.

“When you select large portion sizes you may want to ask yourself if this is truly required. If the answer is yes, then so be it. But if the answer no, you can select lower calorie equivalents and still enjoy the same palatable experiences.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

“A Burger King’ or ‘a KFC’ may temporarily compromise your desired nutritional goal, but depending on your overall diet over time, it may not. Thus, Burger King, KFC (or any fast food) need not automatically be labelled as a disaster by name alone.”

Graeme reminded followers that excessively consuming McDonald's or otherwise won’t be particularly beneficial.

“But if consumption is moderate and accompanied by an overall supportive dietary process rich in nutrients, it can have an enjoyed position in one’s life now and again”, he said.

How you can eat McDonald’s while losing weight

Graeme gave several examples to show how eating fast food doesn’t necessarily mean eating thousands of calories.

At McDonald's, a double quarter pounder with cheese, large fries and large cola would come to 1,406 calories.

A slightly altered version of a quarter pounder with cheese, medium fries and large coke zero comes to a smaller 855 calories.

While both versions can be enjoyed - and everyone’s calorie needs vary depending on their size - the comparison shows the huge difference some small alterations in choice makes.

In the same post, Graeme showed how you could have the calories in A Burger King meal - from 2,221 to 1,054 - with the same method.

Instead of a large strawberry milkshake (869 calories), why not try the strawberry sundae (only 131 calories).
