Weekly horoscope for August 23 – August 29 – your week ahead according to Kerry King and her tarot cards
EVERY Sunday, our resident Tarotscope reader Kerry King will be revealing what surprises, challenges and excitement awaits you in the week ahead.
Kerry has been practising tarot readings for the last 20 years, starting from reading for friends to amassing an international client list.
Using her strong intuition and deep knowledge and understanding of the horoscope, she is able to provide accurate and encouraging predictions for the coming days.
Here’s her predictions for YOUR star sign…
ARIES (Two of Wands, Queen of Cups, Queen of Coins)
I feel like you’re in a dilemma, and one seemingly of your own making.
The Two of Wands sees you adrift in emotional waters, rather than swimming for shore and making a plan.
You are dwelling on something, pondering and ruminating, and it’s not really getting you anywhere. You’re adrift.
The Queens of Cups and Coins shows there are conflicting forces at play, and you’re not sure which way to go.
The Queen of Coins offers a practical, shrewd way forward, which makes sense “on paper” and no one would really argue with. B
ut, Aries, it’s not sitting quite right with you. The Queen of Cups shows your intuition has been aroused, and you’re reluctant to follow what looks sensible because it just doesn’t FEEL right.
Acknowledge this tension and try to get the two sides of yourself to make friends and talk! Together they can work out a plan that is logical and pragmatic, but also responds to your basic instincts and gut reaction.
You just need to focus on getting through this.
TAURUS (The Star, Nine of Coins, Six of Cups)
Well, rest assured Taurus, because whenever The Star shows up, you know you’re in for a great week! It’s the “wish come true” card of the tarot, and signifies that something you have truly hoped for WILL come to pass.
The Nine of Coins shows it will have a positive and lasting impact on your long-term future. This wish is bringing something which will remain in your life for a “happy ever after” time.
The Six of Cups shows it’s something from your past, something (or someone) you thought you had lost or left behind.
Life moves in cycles, energies ebb and flow, relationships blossom and then fade. This particular thing or person had their day in the sun with you, but then it faded. But, now, it’s back and ready to be re-activated.
Be positive, be led by your best hopes. Something magical is brewing, and you just need to be on the look-out to spot it and draw it back into your life.
GEMINI (Seven of Coins, The Emperor, The Fool)
You are a person who marches to their own drumbeat, you can’t bear being told what to do or what to think, and you possess a deeply-held rebellious streak.
The Emperor and The Fool see you raising eyebrows and throwing caution to the wind this week, by making a bold leap of faith that surprises everyone.
Something new is starting, a fresh landscape beckons, an untrodden pathway. It’s radical, inspiring, challenging, exciting and dramatic. And you love all that!
The Seven of Coins shows that this move is a departure from the natural “next step” people thought you’d make. You’ve been on a particular trajectory for some time now, and this move is a big leap away from that. But, you know what, you’re not scared.
This kind of adventure wakes you up, makes you feel more alive, gets your blood flowing faster.
Take the wheel and make the turn you long to make. It doesn’t matter what others think or say. You “do” you, Gemmy.
CANCER (Death, The Moon, Justice)
Three major arcana cards this week, Cancer, so buckle up for an important and maybe even life-changing week ahead.
The Moon shows that new information will arise, and it will change everything. Don’t act or do anything significant until you have this “new news”, because it will impact your choices.
Justice shows that it’s related to a situation where you’ve been wronged, or treated poorly or unfairly.
You will find vindication and justice in the information you receive; you will be able to show others that you were right all along (how good a feeling is that!).
Death shows that this episode will have a deep and lasting effect on you. The change will start within, a shift of perspective and priority. You won’t want the same things any more, you won’t hanker after the same rewards.
Let this process unfold, and let your changing outlook turn your gaze to new opportunities and activities, which better suit your emerging mindset.
What happens in the next seven days is really important. Stay tuned. Stay present. Be kind to yourself throughout. Let life carry you forward in a new way.
LEO (Judgment, Temperance, The High Priestess)
A trio of major arcana cards shows that this week sees significant cosmic forces at play in your life.
Internally, things are changing, and your attitude and outlook is shifting in a major way.
Something is closing down, as shown by the wise and insightful Judgment card.
You are processing an old chapter in a new way, finding relevant life lessons and taking them seriously.
The High Priestess shows this new-found wisdom comes from within, rather than via input from others. You feel you have an “inner voice” which wants to tell you stuff you’ve long ignored or suppressed. Tune in.
Temperance is a powerful card of transforming perspectives, being forced into a “new normal” by changing circumstances. You have felt unbalanced, off kilter, recently, and it’s time to restore the harmony in your life and rediscover a new “centre of gravity”.
This all sounds very zen, doesn’t it? Well, it is. Nothing major is going to HAPPEN, as such, because it’s all going on inside. Give yourself, time, space and kindness to undergo this process.
VIRGO (Seven of Swords, Seven of Wands, Knight of Cups)
These cards could spell “love triangle” (yikes!) or some kind of situation you’d really rather NOT be in, but feel compelled to stick with because you want to win the “prize” at the centre of it.
The Seven of Swords points to shadiness, dodgy dealings, lies and sabotage. Something you’re involved in that not’s not really above-board or something you’re proud of, but it is what it is!
The Seven of Wands reveals there’s an element of rivalry and competition here. Maybe it’s a friendship trio that has soured, maybe the classic “love triangle”, maybe a work rivalry that is simmering away, driving you nuts.
The Knight of Cups shows you have skin in this game, you’re emotionally invested. That’s why you’ve gone as far as you have with it, because this kind of shenanigan isn’t really your cup of tea.
Virgo, give yourself a time limit here. Don’t let this drag on, because it has the potential to drag you down.
LIBRA (The Tower, The High Priestess, Queen of Coins)
One of your long-held hunches is going to be proven correct this week, though it won’t feel like much of a victory because it relates to something quite painful or upsetting.
The Tower and The High Priestess combine to show that your intuition about something (or someone) will come to pass, in a rather dramatic and spectacular fashion. Get ready for fireworks and revelations!
Now, don’t get scared or worried. This is ALL happening for a reason. The Tower swings into our life when things that have overstayed their welcome need sweeping away, chucking out, bringing down.
The process can be swift, and sometimes unsettling, but the aftermath is necessary. You need to let something (or someone) go, and I’ll wager you already know what it is…
The Queen of Coins brings advice for handling this situation. Practical action. Don’t get dumbstruck or paralysed. Swing into action with pragmatic activity to make things better, heal the wound, move the situation forward, clear up any mess.
You have a tendency to overthink things, but don’t let that happen here. Swing into action and, by the end of the week, this will all be cleared up and ready for you to rebuild on. In hindsight, you’ll be glad about this.
SCORPIO (Knight of Coins, The Devil, Nine of Swords)
A deep-down anxiety, as shown by the fretting Nine of Swords, that you don’t share with anyone has the potential to make you act defensively, even aggressively, this week.
The Knight of Coins is you with your guard up, ready to head off anyone who steps too close to your “secret”.
Scorpios are notoriously secretive and private anyway, you can’t bear for people to know things about you (though you like to know EVERYTHING about everyone else).
The Devil reveals this behaviour needs to be acknowledged, addressed and changed. This is a bad habit of yours that pushes people away, that makes others wary of you or think that you hold yourself “above” them in some way.
I’m not saying you HAVE to reveal your secret, but I think the fastest way to stop it being such a source of anxiety WOULD be to share it with a confidant. Say it out loud.
Express yourself. You may find that a lot of your fear is unfounded. We’re all mush inside. So are you. Stop worrying about it so much.
SAGITTARIUS (Seven of Coins, Five of Coins, Six of Coins)
A trio of Coins cards shows that your material, physical world is on your mind this week: health, energy, career, money, assets. The everyday “tools” that get us through life.
The Five of Coins shows that you’ve experienced a loss or setback here, which you’re dwelling on, maybe too much. When we’re shocked or saddened by something we can get “stuck in a moment”, replaying the painful revelation over and over. Torturing ourselves.
The Seven of Coins reveals you will hit your limit with this, this week ahead.
Tiring of your own self-torture, you will realise that this event now lies in the past, there’s nothing you can do to change it, BUT you can control your future trajectory. This feeling is empowering and enlivening. You suddenly feel like making changes!
The Six of Coins shows that your future here lies in working and collaborating with others.
Offering your energy, time, resources, talents freely to people you admire, in the hope they’ll extend a “life line” to pull you up. Sagittarius, they will. So, don’t hesitate to network and get out there!
CAPRICORN (Four of Coins, Three of Wands, King of Swords)
Get ready to have a surprising opportunity land in your lap this week, as shown by the fortunate Three of Wands.
It comes via a contact, and is a fleeting window of opportunity, so you need to react quickly.
The Four of Coins shows it’s a life line that will help you escape a rut you’ve been tumbling deeper into. It might be work-related, or linked to your social life, or everyday rituals.
Wherever you feel bored of the “same old”, expect an invitation to emerge which can unlock a new surge of energy and interest.
The King of Swords asks you to think about how you can bring this new activity or role into your life longer term. I suspect, initially, it’s a temporary thing, and you actually should try to make it more permanent, because it’s good for you.
Most things start small or infrequent. Put the work in to build this up, and make it a new aspect of your lifestyle.
AQUARIUS (Two of Swords, Eight of Swords, Three of Swords)
A trio of Swords cards shows there is some deep thinking and conflicts of interests ahead for you this week. It’s a “mental game”, and you actually relish having cerebral problems to chew on, so I think you’ll have a weird kind of fun here!
The Three of Swords shows it begins with someone being crappy. People often are, aren’t they.
You notice their bad behaviour, and you don’t like it, and you actually think you might wish to remove them from your circle.
The Two of Swords shows your procrastination over this. On the one hand, life’s too short to hold grudges… on the other hand, life’s too short to waste on idiots. Which way to turn?
The Eight of Swords asks you to break your usual habit here. So, if you usually gloss over issues and forgive easily, then dig in harder with this one. Speak up. Avoid them. Do something different.
If you normally expel people at the first sign of trouble, then try and work with this one. Talk to them about how they made you feel. See if you can resolve it.
PISCES (The Emperor, Two of Coins, The Hanged Man)
The Hanged Man reveals you’ve gotten stuck over something, or someone, and you’re in a frustrating period of limbo, which has made you feel tired and withdrawn. Enough!
So, you can’t change the reality of this particular situation, but you CAN stop staring at it, and investing your energy in it.
The Emperor shows you’ll feel resolved to go do something else, in the meantime, whilst this situation unfolds. Good idea!
The Two of Coins suggests there are lots of other things and people in your life, which you can distract yourself with. Use this impasse to broaden your circle and your horizons, and get involved in things you’ve perhaps neglected.
It’s often the case that things happen when we’re not looking, so go look elsewhere, and you might be surprised at what transpires with the “thing” you’re distracting yourself from.
I think things will come to a head, and get moving, when you withdraw your attention.
