A VEGAN mum has been slammed for trying to make spaghetti bolognese out of shredded lettuce and raw pepper sauce.
Ullenka Kash, from Gdynia in Poland unveiled her "lettucetti" - only to be mercilessly mocked for how little her culinary creation resembled the famous Italian dish.
The health coach, who has three children, mainly eats a diet of raw fruit and vegetables.
She often adapts well-known dishes for her 127k Instagram followers - however her latest didn't go down too well.
In a recent post, she explained how to create "lettucetti".
This involved shredding romaine lettuce and adding a sauce of blended bell pepper, avocado, scallion, tomato, turmeric, oregano and lemon juice.
However, when she proudly shared images of the dish to social media as "Raw Vegan Lettuce Spaghetti a'la Bolognese" she was met by outrage.
One person wrote: "This. Is. A. Salad."
Another commented: "This is a war declaration against all Italian culture and everything pasta represents for us."
A third shared: "Gah! This kinda stuff makes it hard for us vegans to be taken seriously. I'm sure this is delicious. But it's a salad. Not even close to a Bolognese. Miles away. Different planets."
And a fourth added: "Please don't call it alla bolognese...it's a ragù and it's made of meat and tomatoes.
"Please don't say it's a plate 'spaghetti alla bolognese' say it's an alternative to pasta (like a completely different thing that can reminds you of pasta)."
Ullenka spoke to about how the dish had come about, explaining: "Since I cut lettuce into stripes, it reminded me a lot of a spaghetti! So I started to call it spaghetti salad or lettucetti or bolognese salad etc.
"I am not Italian and spaghetti for me is a symbol of pasta with sauce, something that you can spin on fork and enjoy a tasty bite easily.
"For someone who doesn't eat meat, who doesn't eat typical vegan cooked food, it does taste Italian, Mediterranean and has the saucy satisfying taste."
The mum claims to have cured her daughter's eczema and her son's autism with a raw vegan diet.
