Forget cleaning spray, make your burnt plans look brand new with this unlikely leftover from dinner
A BLOGGER has shared a bonkers cleaning hack using what could be your dinner – potato and salt.
While most of us put them in the pan, one person has revealed you can use the two ingredients to clean your saucepans.
A video from Blossom’s page shows a pan which has seen better days, with black burn marks along the bottom.
But instead of reaching for sprays or even putting in some elbow grease – they reveal all you actually need is a humble spud.
In a clip, which they captioned 'these unusual hacks will be your new cleaning go-tos!’ they showed the simple method.
Simply cut a potato in half and then dip it in salt and ensure it’s covered.
Then scrub the saucepan with the spud – making sure to pay attention to those burn marks.
Incredibly, the video shows the blackened stains coming off with ease - and the final step is a simple wash under the tap.
The saucepan looks as good as new, and back to its original shiny state.
Social media users have been praising the bizarre tip, with the post racking up nearly one million views and hundreds of comments.
Referencing how dirty their own pans are, one person said: “We need a lot of potatoes.”
Another person wrote: “Really curious about the science behind the potato and salt.
“Anyone explain why those specifically work for those instances?”
While a third said: “Replace my cleaning agents with food... got it!”
