Soft chew Skittles with no shells are now available in the UK… and we’re bowled over

ATTENTION sweet lovers – Skittles have gone soft on us.

Mars have dropped a shell free, gummy version of the rainbow coloured favourites.

Skittles Chewies come in orange, lemon, lime, black currant, and strawberry and have no familiar crunchy shell to crack before getting to the chewy bit.

You won;t even have to wait to tatse test them, and they are already available in the UK.

An eagle-eyed shopper spotted the new sweets being put out in Asda and shared the news with

The new fruit chews, which will come in small bags and sharing pouches, mark the biggest change to Skittle in 20 years.

They have, the company says, a lighter texture and a less intense flavour than the originals.

Also hitting UK shelves soon are Starburst Minis, smaller versions of the classic chews.

Dan Newell, from Mars Wrigley Confectionery, said: ‘Having undertaken extensive research, we found that retailers and consumers alike were looking for something with an alternative texture that still retained the fruity flavours of our much-loved brands.’

We can't wait to get our teeth into them.
