You’ve been making carbonara all wrong! Chef reveals the FOUR magic ingredients… and why you should never add cream
Aussie TV host Justine Schofield has revealed her go-to carbonara recipe
HAVING spaghetti for dinner? It's time to wave pasta la vista to your old carbonara recipe because it turns out we've been making it all wrong.
A celebrity chef has revealed how to whip up the family favourite in minutes and she only uses four ingredients.
And, if you're expecting one of these magic touches to be cream, this is where you're going wrong.
TV host Justine Schofield revealed her recipe to .
She swears by a combination of pancetta, egg yolks and pecorino cheese - and, of course, pasta.
It may seem counter-intuitive, but the raw eggs are the secret to the perfect creamy sauce.
Justine makes her perfect pasta dish by cooking spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water, before frying either pancetta or bacon in a hot pan for two minutes.
While these bits are cooking, she mixes four egg yolks and some pecorino in a bowl.
When she strains the water, Justine puts some aside for later - and tosses the pasta in the pan with the pancetta.
She then takes the pan off the heat, and adds two tablespoons of the reserved water, before coating in the raw egg mixture and adding black pepper.
