A bakery is selling a Harry Potter sorting egg for Easter… and it’s wand-erful

EASTER eggs have got steadily wackier over the years – the traditional egg shape has been swapped for some impressive chocolate creations, and this ‘Sorting Egg’ is no different.

It looks delicious enough for any wizard (or muggle) to enjoy, and even promises to tell customers which Hogwarts house they would be placed in.

Slattery’s Patissier and Chocolatier posted their impressive creation to Facebook, and eager fans are keen top get their hands on one.

It’s a traditional egg shape, but has a lopsided hat perched on it, and a wand resting on its side.

The triple chocolate egg costs £14.95, so may be more pricey than the usual supermarket egg, but there is a scroll inside for you to discover your house.

The shop is based in Manchester, and it operates as collection only, so you may need to plan a trip ahead of April 1 if you’re hoping to surprise someone with the quirky egg.

Slattery’s told : "We are a very creative environment, and give our staff a lot of free rein when it comes to coming up with new ideas. One of our cake decorators made this for his partner last year, and we loved it and decided to run it this year.

"The demand has gone crazy, we have had enquiries from as far as Milan, Italy. Unfortunately because they are all handmade, they are very delicate so they are collection only from our shop in Manchester!"

The demand is definitely showing, as on their Facebook post, many people have commented tagging their friends, presumably dropping hints.

But Potter fans are known to travel far and wide to get their hands on something magical – and we can imagine this fun Easter egg is no different.

For a slightly more glam quirky Easter egg, this pink 'popping' prosecco egg will have boozy chocolate fans going wild.
