The food giant is bringing out the boozing alternative to the Christmas staple treat in the run-up to the festive season, with tarts infused with delicious warming sloe gin.

The Specially Selected Sloe Gin Mince Tarts will be available to shoppers from November 14, and a pack of six will set you back just £2.29.

Aldi’s gin mince tarts are described as “a very sophisticated alternative to the traditional mince pies” and contain mincemeat and sloe gin filling, topped with flaked almonds.

They aren’t the only gin-based product to make this Christmas even more merry.

Forget beer pong, there is now a classy alternative to the popular drinking game being released.

An online retailer has launched gin pong, which comes complete with 12 plastic green and gold gin tumblers and four coloured ping pong balls (how civilised).

The drinking game extravaganza is being sold by gift company , and is set to hit shelves before Christmas – just in time for the festive party season.
