It’s KFC Double Down Day… and here are some of the most delicious meals available to buy worldwide
The meaty meal - featuring bacon, cheese and sauce sandwiched between two chicken fillets - is available in KFC branches up and down the country
IT'S a big day for British fast food fanatics: KFC's Double Down burger has come to the UK.
The meaty meal - featuring bacon, cheese and sauce sandwiched between two chicken fillets - is available in KFC branches up and down the country.
Thanks to popular mass demand, the delicious but difficult-to-eat burger will be available in Britain for just six weeks.
But, as great as that is, it's hard not to feel a little jealous of diners in the other countries where the burger is available all year round.
And not only have overseas KFC customers had the Double Down for ages already - they also have some truly wacky, mouth-watering variants of the popular sandwich.
Here's what you can expect if you order KFC's most popular meal on your holidays...
Korea: A beefy twist
Obviously, there's nowhere near enough meat in a regular Double Down.
So the good people of South Korea have developed a twist featuring a sauced-up beef patty, sandwiched between two Zinger fillets - in addition to the bacon filling.
Singapore: Double the choice
Singaporean branches of KFC have been known to stock two distinct, bold takes on the Double Down.
In one, the bacon is joined by a crispy hash brown and mayo, smushed in between a pair of Zinger fillets.
Alongside this breakfast option, some stores sell a version inspired by Hawaiian pizzas, with a slice of pineapple thrown into the mix.
The tangy fruit comes with bacon, lashings of barbecue sauce and a slice of cheese - all crammed between those tasty Zinger burgers.
Malaysia: Wet work
Looking at a regular Double Down, you could be forgiven for thinking the messy creation is probably saucy enough as it is.
Well, KFC Malaysia disagrees.
Their take on the burger features two chicken fillets with a filling of cheese, mayonnaise and a load of extra-cheesy sauce, just for good measure.
Philippines: Dog days
Why stop with a Double Down burger when you can have a Double Down hot dog, Philippines style?
The dirty dogs, on offer as part of a special promotion, feature a mustard-covered sausage wedged in a fried chicken bun.

America: Health kick
There's no denying: a burger with fried chicken buns isn't exactly the healthiest choice.
So, hilariously, some branches of overseas KFC have started to offer a grilled chicken version alongside the fried chicken original.
The breaded fillets are apparently less messy than their fried counterparts, and are ever-so-slightly less calorific.
In this health-conscious version, the burger's "filling" consists of bacon, cheese and cheese sauce.
UK: Keeping it classy
Our version of the burger features a slice of bacon sandwiched between two Original Recipe chicken fillets.
The meaty treat is slathered with melted Monterey Jack cheese and barbecue sauce - as if it wasn't tricky enough to eat already.
Previously, we told how KFC menus could be having HUGE overhaul... with a distinctly hipster new flavour.
We also decided to take the Double Down burger as inspiration for some culinary creations of our own.
