Lidl is launching organic prosecco for just £7.99… and it could mean the end of hangovers
The budget-friendly supermarket Organic Prosecco Spumante goes on sale this Thursday and is available while stocks last - and it's even tipped to give you less of a hangover than regular fizz
GOOD news for fizz fans! Lidl is launching organic prosecco for just £7.99... and it's £6 cheaper than Ocado's.
The budget-friendly supermarket's limited edition bubbly will hit the shelves this Thursday (October 12) - and it's even tipped to give you less of a hangover.
Organic prosecco contains lower levels of sulphite preservatives, used in wine to keep it fresher for longer.
These chemicals are often held responsible for making you feel grim the morning after a boozy night.
Lidl's Organic Prosecco Spumante is made from organically-grown grapes, produced in cellars cleaned purely with recycled water, and the vineyards are managed without the use of chemical fertiliser, herbicide, pesticides and insecticides.
Despite the common myth that organic fizz has a more "rustic" taste than your regular tipple, the supermarket's consultant master of wine, Richard Bampfield, claims that the opposite is true.
Due to the less intensive farming practice, the grapes are "able to fully express their flavour".
According to the tasting notes, Lidl's organic fizz is "well balanced, not too dry and has bright aromas of pear and white peach".
And at £6 cheaper than and almost five quid less than , it's a bubbly bargain.
But you'd better be quick, as the limited edition fizz is only available while stocks last.
If you miss out this time don't fret, as the Organic Prosecco Spumante will be in stores again from November 30 for another limited period - just in time for Christmas!
Earlier this year we told how the supermarket launched a fruity £7.99 Italian liqueur for almost half the price of Aperol.
In August, Lidl's bank holiday offer meant you could nab its standard Prosecco for just £3.33 a bottle.
