The 12 weirdest McDonald’s meals from around the world… from black buns to a NUTELLA burger
The global menus are VERY different to the usual UK fare
APART from the occasional special promo and the odd new McFlurry flavour, McDonald’s menu stays pretty standard in the UK.
But under the golden arches of more far-flung places, the cuisine gets much more exotic.
The fast food chain have over 36,000 outlets in 120 nations, which serve 68 MILLION customers daily.
And the menus differ from country to country.
From black burger buns to chicken served on porridge, the meals are adapted to local tastes – and even the McFlurries get a makeover.
These are some of the wackiest meals you can order in an overseas McDonald’s.
Black and White burgers – Hong Kong
Fancy tucking into a black burger bun with your Big Mac.
Apparently its squid ink that makes the seeded bread pitch black, and they are then stuffed with beef.
The white bun has chicken patties instead.
Matcha Oreo McFlurry – Japan
Because some people like their ice cream flavoured with green tea, apparently.
As well as matcha tea, McFlurry contains crushed Oreo cookies.
Yum.
Frozen Coke – New Zealand
This would have been pretty welcome in the recent UK heatwave.
It’s a Coke slushie topped with ice cream.
Churros – South Korea
Just like a stick of doughnut, the Churros is fried pastry dough that's coated in sugar.
Sweet.
Shaka Shaka Chicken – Japan
Fans of Salt n’Shake will get this dish.
It’s a wrapped-up chicken patty and a packet of seasoning (choose between lemon, pepper, and cheese).
Pour in the seasoning, shake, and enjoy.
Poutine – Canada
A classic Canadian dish is a take on cheesy chips using cheese curds.
It’s then smothered with gravy.
Sweety Con Nutella – Italy
It’s a burger made from Nutella instead of meat.
This needs to come to the UK soon.
Veg Pizza McPuff – India
Indian McDonald’s are hot on veggie food and this is a fine example.
A savoury dough stuffed with tomato sauce, carrots, bell pepper, beans, onion, peas and gooey mozzarella.
Bubur Ayam McD- Malaysia
Chicken strips served on a bed of PORRIDGE and garnished with spring onions, sliced ginger, fried shallots and diced chilies.
We’re not sure if that’s breakfast or lunch.
Gazpacho – Spain
Cold soup is not something you’d imagine buying at McD’s but it definitely exists.
The tomato treat is only available in Spain.
Shrimp Burger – Korea
In deluxe or double deluxe, this seafood version of the burger is a popular choice.
It comes with cheese and lettuce and looks pretty tasty.
McMollette – Mexico
The McMollette is a famous breakfast feast in Mexican McD’s.
It’s an open bun sandwich with beans, cheese, and sauce.
We recently revealed the new craze for dipping fries in McFlurries and that the Big Tasty was making a comeback.
