Whether you crave flavoursome deep pan or delicious thin Italian crusts, there is a pizza to suit all fans.

Many of the top pizza restaurants are offering deals for so people can take advantage of the special occasioni.

Where are the best deals and discounts for National Pizza Day 2018?

  • has has two money-saving offers for the big day - choose from either a starter and main from £9.95, or sweeten the deal with three courses (including dessert) from just £12.95.
  • is offering 50 per cent off pizzas when you spend over £20.
  •  is selling their Deep Dish pizza for £1 from Tesco and their Large The Takeaway option for £2.50 from Iceland. These will be available until February 12, so the fun doesn't have to stop immediately after the day is over.

How do you make a homemade pizza?

According to site, here is a simple recipe that will let you make a pizza from scratch:

Ingredients: 

For the pizza dough (enough for two 12 inch bases):

  • 550g of strong white flour
  • 7g of dried yeast (usually one sachet)
  • 1 tsp of table salt
  • 1 tsp of caster sugar
  • 320ml of luke warm water
  • Pepper to season
  • 2 tbsp of olive oil

For the pizza base sauce:

  • Tin of chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp of tomato Puree
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Pepper to season
  • Coarse salt to season
  • 2 cloves of garlic (crushed or finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp of basil
  • 1 tsp of oregano
  • 1 tsp Thyme

For the toppings:

  • Grated cheddar and mozzarella
  • Toppings of your choice

Method: 

1. Sieve the flour into a bowl and add the salt and pepper.

2. Put the water, sugar, yeast and olive oil in a jug and let it sit for 3 mins.

3. Pour the mixture into the bowl and stir until mixed.

4. Knead the dough until it is tacky. Cpver and leave for an hour until dough has doubled in size.

5. Knead dough again and then split into two (one for each pizza base).

6. Make sauce by blending all sauce ingredients for 3o seconds.

7. Roll dough out on a floured surface until it is the size of your pizza tray.

8. Cover dough in sauce, add grated cheese and then your toppings.

9. Cook in a preheated oven for 20mins at 200C and then serve.
