Ashley Calder, from Edinburgh, previously worked with the bonkers celeb chef at his prestigious three-Michelin-star restaurant The Fat Duck but says she is completely self-taught when it comes to baking. The 38-year-old began creating the wacky bakes after finding miniature food was 'going viral' online and was soon immortalising people's grocery shops in fondant, which can take up to an hour for each one. Ashley, 38, of Edinburgh, said: “All the wee mini food things seem to be going viral at the minute online.

“People started saying ‘is there any chance you can make mini food’ and it just hit off.

“I guess people like anything that’s miniature, I know I’m like that.

“I’m like, ‘oh my god, it’s so cute’, because it’s small.

“Since then, everyone asks for ‘favourite things’ cupcakes, so they’ll send me a list of their boyfriends’ favourite foods and I will make them.

“I always loved baking and cooking and making things look pretty.

“I worked for a catering company all the way through high school and university, and I did all the canapes and stuff there.

“But I didn’t really think it could be a real life job until now.

“I was too scared to just do this in case I wouldn’t be busy enough, but it seems to have just taken off.

“It’s so weird that I just make cakes from my kitchen and it’s just taken off.”
