I make a mega pick ‘n’ mix with Asda sweets for just £1.25 – it’s much cheaper than the cinema, you must try it
A WOMAN has revealed how she made a mega pick ‘n’ mix on the cheap.
So if your little darlings love sweets, but you can’t afford to pay the extortionate prices at the cinema, you’ve come to the right place.
Savvy shopper Lottie Hall took to social media to show off her clever idea, leaving many open-mouthed.
Posting on Facebook, on , a private group with a staggering 2.3 million members, the Asda fan explained: “First time posting but thought I’d share my little hack to make a cheap pick and mix as they are so expensive normally!!
“Asda do lots of little bags of sweets for 25p (which is mad with the price of everything these days!!!), so I bought five of them and mixed them together to make a plate full of pick and mix, costing me only £1.25!
“They have LOADS of different options and have some chocolate ones as well (milk and white buttons).
“You can obviously buy more or less of them as well - they also have some for 40p.
“I know shops like Tesco and Sainsbury's cheapest bags of sweets are 70p.
“Lidl and Aldi do have some for around the 30-40p mark but hardly any choice, whereas Asda have enough to make a fab pick and mix!
“Thought it might help others and a great idea for people with kids.”

The Asda fan nabbed fizzy cola bottles, fizzy rainbow belts, super sour snakes, strawberry flavour cables, cherry jellies and a standard bag of pick ‘n’ mix.
She then used the six bags of sweets to fill an entire plate, for the ultimate pick ‘n’ mix.

At the same time, many parents revealed that they have done this for their children.
One mother explained: “I always do this when the children have friends or family sleeping over and have films. I've 4 children and that's without the added extra.
“It saves me a fortune and less mess where the children don't eat a full long sweet.”
A second penned: “I did this for my daughter's birthday “party bags” a few years ago. So much cheaper than buying pre-made and the kids loved them.”
