But what happens when we want to save the cash and reheat the left overs of our mashed potatoes?

The good news is, yes, you can reheat your mashed potatoes.
According to the if you're storing your potatoes in the fridge, you should use a shallow or sealed container.
Materials like aluminium foil won't keep your food as protected and if you want the best results, store at the back of the fridge.
We don't advise reheating mashed potatoes in the microwave though.

This is because the microwave can dry out your mashed potatoes.
This doesn't sound like the nice, creamy mash we all enjoy.
However, if you don't have access to an oven, here are some tips that we have for you.
What is the best way to reheat mashed potatoes?
Ideally, you should reheat your mashed potatoes in the oven.

Place your mash in a baking dish and make sure it's spread evenly across the tray. Heat your oven to 176°C.
Add cream and butter to them and heat.
Make sure the cream is layered over evenly and spread the butter over the top of the potatoes.
If you're reheating them in the microwave, pop in your covered mash potatoes at a high power for one minute.
Once they're ready, take them out and stir them.
If you need them to be warmer, keep reheating them for additional 30-second time periods.
Stir in between to ensure your mash is warmed up evenly.
You can also stir in melted butter and warm milk. Don't get them straight out of the fridge or they may cool down your reheated potatoes.
How many times can you reheat mashed potatoes?
The (FSA) states you should always reheat food until it is steaming all the way through.
You should only ever reheat your food once.

Mashed potatoes will usually last up to five days in the fridge but be careful, if they're not used in that time frame they can spoil.
If your stored mashed potatoes show any sign of spoilage, you should throw them away immediately.
