EGG-STRA SAVINGS

I went wild in the aisles at Tesco’s Easter clearance – people might say I’m greedy but I can explain myself

A SAVVY shopper was over the moon when she bagged so many reduced Easter treats in Tesco’s clearance sale.

And while a minority accused her of clearing the shelves or being “greedy”, she said she had a good explanation for why she went wild in the aisles of the supermarket.

The bargain hunter headed straight for the reduced chocolate section to see what she could find.

And she was surprised to see the shelves lined with a wide variety of Easter treats, with the cheapest starting at just 31p.

So she decided to stock up and bought several items of each, including 10 boxes of 50p Creme Eggs, 4 Cadbury white button eggs for 42p and 3 large sized eggs that cost £1.25.

Other buys included approximately seventeen Mini Egg chocolate bars, which scanned for just 31p, and two giant Lindor Easter eggs, which cost £2.25.

She then proudly posted the results of her supermarket shopping haul for all to see.

Writing alongside a snap of her treats all piled up, she wrote in Facebook’s Extreme Couponing and Bargain UK group: “Tesco Galashiels.

“Creme Eggs 50p a box, small eggs 42p, large eggs £1.25, Lindor eggs £2.25, mini egg chocolate bars 31p each.”

As many people congratulated her on spotting the big bargains, a few appeared to have been annoyed that they’d missed out.

One person wrote: “Literally every comment section on this group ends up with the same dire crack of people complaining others got a bargain and ‘didn’t leave any for anyone else.”

They later added: “It’s just jealousy I reckon, fuming that they haven’t got a stash of choccie.”

And the savvy shopper was quick to clear things up before she was trolled for being too greedy.

She explained: “Yeah I got loads to share out with my family.”

They also said that while they’d taken a lot, there was still plenty to go round in their local town.

They wrote: “Loads and loads left.

“Staff said they had over ordered by a large amount this year.”

Fortunately, many other people saw the bright side and were quick to comment in support.
