Just as in previous years, Martin predicted that popular supermarket chains like Aldi, Lidl, Asda and Tesco would be slashing the price of their vegetables as people scramble to get their hands on them.

“This always happens every year in all of the big supermarkets, so I can’t see any reason why it wouldn’t happen this year.”

Touching on the current climate and how it could lead to even bigger discounts, Martin continued: “There’s a cost of living crisis, they want to get people into their stores.

“If you look at the Christmas advertising we’re seeing, they’re changing the tone of it to be less about spending.

“So I suspect there will be big Christmas veg deals coming when we get to that time of year.”

The TV star, who won a National Television Award for his work earlier this year, also pinpointed some further dates for your calendar.

He suspects that M&S will begin to put down the price of their Christmas decorations and gift wrap from Thursday 8th December.

On the same date, Lidl is thought to be doing another big event. Martin said: “For the past few years, Lidl has done a £10 off £40 voucher.

“The date has moved slightly on this one, so if you’re looking to shop in Lidl, keep your eye out.”
