A MODEST tin of potatoes might not sound like a Sunday dinner staple - but air fryer fans are turning them into the perfect roasties.
Cooking fanatics are using the 50p bargain item as an easy hack for roast potatoes with mouth-waterning results.
All you need is an air fryer, oil or cooking spray and some seasoning - with a combination of salt, pepper, garlic and cajun seasoning proving popular.
In a TikTok clip, one user shows you then pour the potatoes out of the tin into a bowl and add a generous amount of seasoning.
The next step is to toss the potatoes in bowl before popping them in the air fryer.
At this stage, cooking fans appear divided on how long to leave them in for.
After cooking them for 12 minutes at 220C, one said: “They were delicious, so quick as well."
Meanwhile, another - who used 50p ones from Asda - said: "I’ve made them loads now. They are so yummy.
"I whack them in the air fryer for 20 minutes. But I take them out after 10 and give them a wee shake.
"Honestly, these are so good. They’re so soft and mushy."

And a third added: "I decided to make the air fryer tinned potatoes today. I put them in at 200C for 25 minutes but they probably only needed 20.
"I’ve given them a wee try and they’re actually really delicious. Lovely and soft and fluffy, and crispy on the outside. Give them a go, they’re really good."
Elsewhere, another air fryer fanatic used 65p tinned potatoes from Aldi for the easy hack, writing: "Popped them in the air fryer for 15 minutes and wow."
While many seem to be enjoying the food hack, other TikTok users have been left stunned that people are just discovering it.
One said: "I’ve been roasting tin potatoes for years, I can’t believe people are only just discovering it."
A second wrote: "I love these do them all the time."
Meanwhile, another added: "This is a standard in our house they’re amazing."
