Home cook reveals exact recipe to make shortbread in the slow cooker – and you only need three ingredients

A WOMAN has revealed how you can make shortbread in your slow cooker - and it’s incredibly simple.
Taking to the Facebook group she shared her easy recipe.
All you will need to perfect the biscuit is butter, caster sugar and plain flour (full recipe below).
Simply combine the flour and the sugar together before adding the butter and rubbing with your fingertips to form a crumb.
You then cook the mixture on high for 2-2.5 hours adding chocolate chips or dried fruit if you wish.
Fellow group members couldn’t wait to give the recipe a try, praising the homecook in the comments.
One wrote: “Love shortbread so will be stealing this n cooking. 😋”
“Mine is in right now, the mixture alone smells amazing” said another, with a third adding, “I'm going to b 2 stone heavier after this lock down. Looks class.”
Slow cooker shortbread recipe
Ingredients
- 180g plain flour
- 55g caster sugar
- 125g butter
Method
Turn slow cookeron high to heat up.
Sieve flour into mixing bowl and mix in sugar.
Rub in butter with your fingertips until mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Put mixture into a loose bottom round cake/ greased tin and press down with fingertips or back of a spoon.
Put tin straight into slow cooker put a tea towel under lid to stop condensation cook on high for 2 1/2 hours or till light brown.
Take tin out of slow cooker and score lines to make triangles.
Sprinkle caster sugar on top leave in tin till cools slightly before taking out.
Leave to cool on a wire rack
