Meghan Markle’s £69 Mayamiko wrap dress is selling for 10 TIMES the price on eBay
MEGHAN Markle showcased her style credentials when she stepped out in a chic Mayamiko wrap dress in Cape Town yesterday.
And fans were delighted upon learning that the royal approved piece was just £69 – but those looking to get their hands on it post-Meg better have deep pockets.
After completely selling out in all sizes online, the ethically sourced dress has begun cropping up on eBay for up to ten times the price.
One seller in the United Arab Emirates is asking for no less than $795 (£639) for the ensemble – that’s not including the £39.42 shipping cost.
Meanwhile another is being a little more reasonable asking £175 for the dress in a size 12.
And despite still being almost three times the original retail price, it has garnered plenty of interest on the auction site where it currently has 15 “watchers.”
The auctions are likely to be the work of so-called fashion flippers who buy popular items in bulk and then sell them on at hugely inflated prices
Meghan stepped out in the chic wrap dress on day one of the royal tour when she and Harry visited a township near Cape Town.
The website says the dress has been ethically made from locally-sourced 100 per cent cotton in Malawi, by artisans from the Mayamiko workshop.
