And royal fans were quick to point out that the hat worn by the five-month-old appeared to be same one once worn by his dad Prince Harry 34 years ago.

During a flight to Aberdeen in 1985 the late Princess of Wales could be seen carrying the then six-month-old who was wearing what is believed to be very same cream bobble hat.

Royal fan account The House of Sussex shared a side by side comparison where the two babies looked strikingly similar.

The couple began their 10-day tour by visiting a township to support a charity that helps disadvantaged children.

Their decision to fly with a commercial airline comes after a row over the number of private jets Harry and Meghan were taking while preaching about climate change.

The family have also arrived laden with gifts for the nation's children — presents donated to their son Archie.

Harry will travel to Angola on Friday, to pay homage to the work of his late mother Diana, Princess of Wales, campaigning for landmines to be outlawed during a visit she made to the country in 1997.
