Meghan and Harry make secret £4,350 donation in four-month-old Archie’s name to help build Mozambique swimming pool

ARCHIE Harrison has made his first charitable donation, and he’s only four months old.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have placed a secret gift of £4,350 to marine conservation charity Love the Oceans under their son’s name.

The money will go towards building a swimming pool in Guinjata Bay, Mozambique and will help kids learn how to swim.

The money was given with a mysterious “Archie HMW” listed as the donor, but reported the royal family being behind it.

Around 12 people drown each year in the area due to 90 per cent of the local popular never being taught, and the non-profit organisation launched the appeal to help.

Meghan has previously supported the Love the Oceans organisation on the Sussex Royal Instagram page, which has 9.4million followers.

It was chosen as one of 15 pages the couple followed for August, which they’ve dubbed their “Forces For Change month”.

Love The Oceans’ Instagram bio explains that its aim is to “enable marine conservation” through “research, education and diving”.

Swim coach and Love the Oceans partner Adam Knight said staff were “blown away” with the money, which appeared in mid-August.

He said: “I said to my colleague, ‘That has to be Harry and Meghan.’ We made some calls and were able to verify that it was from them, which is just incredible.

“Without that donation and support this would not be happening.

“What the Sussexes do is just incredible and I honestly can’t thank them enough.”

The fundraiser aimed to raise £5,000 for the project and it has now hit the target thanks to Archie’s donation.

On Instagram last month, Harry and Meghan shared a gallery of images showcasing the organisation’s work, adding the caption: “LoveTheOceans (LTO) is launching its ‘Adopt a Whale Shark’ campaign, enabling people to adopt an individual whale shark.

“The donation will support their continued research to protect these gentle giants.”

Prince Harry has travelled to Mozambique in the past, continuing the work of his mother Princess Diana by visiting minefields with charity Halo project in 2010.
