Inside the £1,200-a-night luxury hotel where ‘Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stayed in Rome’ for the wedding of fashion designer Misha Nonoo
MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry checked into an extravagant £1,200-a-night hotel in Rome for the wedding of Misha Nonoo, it has been revealed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stayed at the exclusive Hotel Vilon when they attended the star-studded bash, according to the MailOnline.
Photos emerged of the royal couple dressed to the nines yesterday as they celebrated the nuptials of their fashion designer friend who is thought to have match-made them.
The stunning, five-star hotel is located close to some of Rome’s most famous landmarks, including the Trevi fountain and the Spanish steps.
The duke and duchess are said to have had a two-night stay in the Borghese Suite of the boutique hotel, after jetting in on a commercial flight on Thursday.
Hotel Vilon is said to be completely booked out for the entirety of the three-day wedding celebrations.
The second-floor suite has a king-size bed and comes with its own Art Deco-themed sitting room.
Meghan and Harry could have taken advantage of the suite’s walk-in double rain shower and free standing bath.
They could also have used the suite’s 24-hour in-room dining service and chosen from a duvet and pillow menu for their stay.
For some downtime, the couple could also have watching Netflix on their 55 inch TV flat screen, which also comes with satellite TV.
The hotel used to be a boarding school, and is now a small-scale hotel boasting just 18 rooms, including three suites.
Double rooms cost from £385 per night and reach around £1,200 for the royal couple’s luxury suite.
Prince Harry shot cameras a cheeky grin on Friday afternoon in a sharp black tie suit while Meghan dazzled in a £8,900 sheer black gown by Valentino with a V-neck cut and voluminous puff sleeves.
Meghan’s chic black dress is similar to the Jason Wu frock she wore to the Lion King premiere in London earlier this year but features sequin-lined frills running down the front and back.
Princess Beatrice was among the first of the guests to arrive while her sister Princess Eugenie was spotted chatting to the bride.
Meghan and Prince Harry, who left four-month-old Archie at home, were said to be the guests of honour at a small pre-wedding lunch hosted by the bride and groom.
Misha is one of Meghan’s closest friends and attended both the Royal Wedding last year and her lavish New York baby shower in February.
A source told Fabulous Digital: “Misha helped introduce Harry to Meghan and the two women are the best of friends.
“Meghan wasn’t going to miss her wedding for the world.
“They’ve left Archie at home but it’s only for a couple of days and they will be back on Saturday.”
The lunch took place at the CineCitta film studios, which is the spot Misha and oil tycoon partner Mikey Hess are hosting a Gala dinner tonight.
According to locals, the narrow street that the hotel is located on has become a hub for paparazzi photographers, plain-clothed police officers and blacked-out vehicles since Thursday – when the royals arrived.
Buckingham Palace told Fabulous Digital that they “don’t comment or guide on their private schedule and arrangements.”
The couple are expected to return to London today, ahead of their 10-day royal tour to southern Africa, which starts on Monday.
The designer is one of Meghan’s closest friends and was recently hired as the designer behind Meghan’s new Smart Works capsule collection.
