Kate Middleton’s daughter Charlotte was nicknamed ‘Warrior Princess’ at nursery thanks to her ‘tomboy’ nature and ‘feisty’ personality, royal expert claims
PRINCESS Charlotte was nicknamed ‘Warrior Princess’ at nursery due to her ‘feisty’ personality, a royal expert has revealed.
The young royal began her first full week at school on Monday, after joining Prince George at St Thomas’ in Battersea last Thursday.
The four-year-old was taken to school by her mum and dad, Kate Middleton and Prince William, alongside her brother, six, who is starting his third term.
The young royal will be called Charlotte Cambridge – taking the same surname as Prince George – but a royal expert has revealed the princess has a very unique nickname.
The only daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, both 37, was nicknamed ‘Warrior Princess’ at nursery, due to her ‘feisty’ personality, Katie Nicholl has claimed.
Princess Charlotte picked up the moniker while she attended Willcocks Nursery, near her home in Kensington Palace, for 18 months.
Katie told : “The other nickname that she had when she was at Willcocks Nursery, which was up until just before the summer, was Warrior Princess.
“I'm wondering if that might be a nickname that will stick with her. Apparently she earned that nickname because obviously she is a Princess, but she's quite a tomboy.
“She loves climbing trees and she's very much an adventurer, she was quite known for her feisty personality.”
Katie added the title could stay with her at St Thomas’, although she added she’s known as ‘Lottie’ to her family and friends.
The young royal is reportedly a fan of climbing trees and running around with her brother.
She’s repeatedly showed off her daring side, infamously telling reporters at Prince Louis’ christening “you’re not coming”.
And she was spied cheekily sticking her tongue out at crowds while attending The King's Cup last month.
Royal fans gushed over how adorable she looked in in her blue-and-red uniform on her first day of school, with the youngster twirling her hair as she walked into the classroom.
Commenting on Instagram, one fan said: “Charlotte is going to be a rebel. She’s trying to take out her pony."
She personalised her book bag with a pink sparkly unicorn, another example of Princess Charlotte adding her own spin on things.
Prince William later admitted his daughter loved the mythical creatures.
He told an audience during a visit to Harcombe House, Devon, to mark Emergency Services Day yesterday: “My daughter loves unicorns. Loves them. Very cool."
