Kim Kardashian is mum-shamed for letting daughter North West, six, wear HUGE hooped earrings
KIM Kardashian has been slammed on social media for allowing six-year-old North West to wear "giant" hoop earrings.
Fans and followers rushed to the comments section of Kim's latest image, mum-shaming the 38-year-old for allowing her eldest daughter to wear the style.
Posting an adorable snap of the pair doing a "pinky promise", Kim wrote: "Pinky swear we’re besties for life!"
And while thousands of fans took to Instagram to gush over the cute snap, others took the opportunity to question Kim's parenting.
One wrote: "Cute but those giant hoops for a little girl? She’s not even 11 yet."
While another said: "I worry for her ears! I’m nearly 30 and I still worry someone/a child or my dog will rip them out!"
Another follower called the hoops "ridiculous" and commented: "The earring are ridiculous... let a kid act like a kid."
While one explained: "OK I never say anything bad regarding anyone’s kids, but, North has no business wearing hoops that big at what, 6? They’re gonna pull on her little holes."
Another fan even asked Kim to "dress North according to her age".
"This is sooo not OK," they commented.
"Hoops seriously?"
Others, however, rushed to Kim's defence with one claiming North was "just dressing up".
"Why the negativity she’s only dressing up she looks cool."
Another said: "People just can't mind their business. Must you complain about everything?"
One person suggested "light" earrings were the better choice, so not to stretch the earlobes.
"I think it would only be an issue if they were heavy and could stretch her earlobes.
"But lots are made with very light materials now, so probably fine."
It's not the first time Kim has been slammed over a parenting decision.
The reality star received backlash in 2017 for allowing a three-year-old North to wear black lipstick.
And at Christmas, followers criticised the mum for letting her eldest daughter straighten her hair.
One wrote: "It affects young fans that look up to them and these young kids thinking that they also need to straighten their hair at such a young age.
"And thinking that curly hair doesn’t look good and it becomes an insecurity for them. Sometimes you should think about the effects things like this has on a young girls (and some boys) image in our society."
More recently, she was slammed for allowing Chicago to hold a snake, with users rushing to the post to express their concerns not for the one-year-old but for the serpent.
One wrote: "She is holding the snake way too tight the poor snake needs to be able to move around she could have hurt it."
While another said: "Children handling small fragile animals is true anxiety."
