Ellie Goulding wows fans in a breathtaking silk crepe wedding dress by Chloé… and it took 640 hours to make
NEWLYWED Ellie Goulding tied the knot today in a breathtaking silk crepe gown that took a whopping 640 hours to create.
The 32-year-old looked radiant in the Chloé dress, as she married Caspar Jopling in a star-studded ceremony with the likes of Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom in attendance.
Ellie and Caspar were wed at York Minster Cathedral this afternoon, with the Love Me Like You Do singer arriving for the ceremony in a bespoke Chloé gown, designed by Natacha Ramsay Levi.
The silk double crepe dress was hand embroidered, with white roses of York as well as delicate glass beads.
The flawless design also featured a silk radzimir petticoat and took a painstaking 640 hours to construct.
As a touching tribute to her new husband, Ellie's silk tulle veil and Victorian style organza collar were embroidered with E and C - the couple's initials.
"I was so thrilled and excited to collaborate with Natacha at Chloé on my wedding dress.
“Natacha worked alongside me to design something timeless and classic, but with all the Chloé spirit.
"I have never felt more special than the moment I first tried on the dress during my fitting in Paris, it was utterly awe-inspiring to see the craftsmanship and attention to detail.”
Arriving in a blue VW camper van, Ellie was greeted by her bridesmaids, who all wore white long sleeve dresses.
Caspar, an arts dealer, looked relatively relaxed on his big day, smiling and sharing a joke with his friends before heading inside to await his bride.
After exchanging vows, the newlyweds shared their first kiss as man and wife at the altar, before heading outside for photographs as Mr and Mrs Jopling.
The singer planted a kiss on her new husband's lips, before they posed for more photographs.
Ellie invited a star-studded array of guests from the world of music and showbiz as well as members of the Royal Family, after Princess Eugenie reportedly introduced the couple.
Also in attendance was singer James Blunt, who arrived with his wife Sofia Wellesley, as well as comedian Jimmy Carr.
