Woman’s enormous purple engagement ring is slammed by cruel wedding shamers who compare it to a grape
A WOMAN has been cruelly mocked online for her statement engagement ring.
The violet sparkler was called "tacky" and compared to a knuckle duster, a grape and a cockroach when it was posted to Facebook group this week.
The ring is an oval shape, featuring an enormous purple stone that spans from the bottom of the finger to the top of the knuckle.
Its owner has paired it with a matching wedding band, which is made up of a series of smaller egg-shaped gems.
When a snap of the piece was shared online, the caption read: "Someone's engagement ring and wedding band from a different group. Apparently the engagement ring amethyst is over 40 carats.
"I'm not sure if the stone is actually 40 carats, that's just what the girl said."
The post sparked quite a reaction from other Facebook users, quickly racking up hundreds of comments.
But unfortunately for the owner of the quirky bling, people weren't particularly kind about it.
One group member wrote: "I never realised they made coloured knuckle dusters."
Others said: "Looks like the colour purple pooped all over her," "Grape flavour," "Looks like it came from a cereal box! What the actual hell," and: "She has a helicopter pad on her finger."
Another joked: "It looks like princess plastic jewellery from the 25 cent bin."
"I almost threw my phone and stomped it. I thought that was a roach on her hand," wrote one spooked group member.
Quite a few pointed out that the ring looked as though it may be weighing the woman's hand down.
"Can she even bend her finger? That's just so tacky looking," and: "She's gonna have a buff a** finger," read two messages.
Another added: "She takes that thing off and loses 5lbs."
When someone asked if the picture was a joke, the original poster replied: "She seemed pretty serious about it. She was humble-bragging about how big the stone was."
As long as she's happy, eh?
