TOE-TALLY BONKERS

Big-toe heels are the bizarre new footwear trend – and they’ll freak you out

FOR most of us, toes - and big toes in particular - aren't really something we like to draw attention to.

So, imagine our distress when we found out that "big-toe heels" not only exist, but are becoming a fashion trend.

The name - created by - refers to a standard pair of heels, that would otherwise be closed if it wasn't for the big toe, which proudly pokes out of the side.

Worst of all, they've actually been seen on the runway, taking centre stage at designer, Y Project's spring/summer show.

The French label is now selling the bonkers design via Stylebop for an eye-watering £790.

In fact, the retailer even refer to the strange style as "equal parts feminine cool and fashion-conscious."

The French brand is known for its quirky designs, having also created denim underwear last year.

And it's not the first time we've been introduced to a concerning shoe trend this year

In the spring, a pair of £740 "camel toe" heels were dubbed "the ugliest shoes" by shoppers who compared them to "pigs' trotters".

The shoes - which were part of the new season from Maison Margiela footwear and designed by John Galliano - were being sold in Selfridges, with the department store sharing a photo on its page.

Named after the desert animal because of its uncomfortable-looking design, the store captioned the photo using an emoji of a camel and the word "toe", asking people for their thoughts.

And shoppers didn't hold back, branding the £740 sandals the "ugliest pair of shoes ever conceived".

But now, it looks as though the camel-toe heels could have a contender...

In other fashion news, we told you how you can now buy a replica of Kate’s Sleeping Beauty Gucci gown for just £80 at Chi Chi London.

We also revealed Holly Willoughby’s Marks & Spencer polka dot dress sends shoppers into a frenzy – as it’s dubbed THE dress of autumn.

And we showed you the extreme ripped jeans are the cracking new fashion trend that basically flashes your entire bum.
