Kate Middleton to take Princess Charlotte to her first day of school after missing Prince George’s due to morning sickness
KATE Middleton will be taking Princess Charlotte to school on her first day – after missing out on Prince George’s due to sickness.
The Duchess of Cambridge will take four-year-old Princess Charlotte to school at St Thomas’ in Battersea, South London next Thursday.
The youngster is due to start reception, joining Prince George, six, who is beginning his third term at the fee-paying school.
A palace spokesperson confirmed: "Princess Charlotte, accompanied by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George, will attend her first day of school at Thomas's Battersea on Thursday 5th September."
The mum-of-three missed out on Prince George’s big day in 2017, as she was pregnant with Prince Louis at the time, and suffering from acute morning sickness, known as hyperemesis gravidarum.
The 37-year-old was forced to pull out of several engagements due to illness, the same with her other two pregnancies.
A palace spokesperson said at the time: "Unfortunately the Duchess of Cambridge remains unwell, and will not be able to accompany Prince George on his first day of school.
“The Duke of Cambridge will drop off Prince George this morning as planned."
Prince William took Prince George to school while Kate stayed at home, with adorable photos showing the 37-year-old carrying his son’s book bag.
Official photographs will be released to mark the occasion showing Princess Charlotte in her new school uniform, as they were for Prince George’s first day of school.
Kate and Prince William are said to be hands-on parents, both regularly spotted doing the school run.
Reports claim that Kate dropped off Prince George at the school just one day after giving birth to Prince Louis.
One parent reportedly told the : "No one really gives Kate a second glance when she does the school drop-off.
"We have a Victoria’s Secret model doing the school run, too, and the dads are far more interested in her!"
The school charges usually charges £6,429 a term – or £19,287 a year – but Princess Charlotte will only be charged £6,305 a term, or £18,915 a year, as she gets a sibling discount.
Simon O'Malley, headmaster at Thomas's Battersea, said: “We are delighted that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have decided that Princess Charlotte will join her elder brother, Prince George, at Thomas's Battersea.
“We greatly look forward to welcoming her and all of our new pupils to the school in September.”
