Shopper in hysterics after Boohoo pink crop top left her 34G boobs hanging out because of sizing error
YOUR anniversary is fast approaching and your boyfriend is whisking you away for a romantic trip to Mallorca to celebrate.
What do you do? Instantly start trawling through your favourite shopping destinations to find a killer date night outfit, obviously.
That's exactly what Bethany Ward, from Wolverhampton, did ahead of her holiday with her boyfriend Ainsley Hicks, 25, to mark their two-year anniversary.
The English Literature student thought she'd hit gold (or neon pink) when she stumbled upon a vibrant satin two-piece from Boohoo.
Available in lime green too, this sexy co-ord cost just £14 and features a classic satin pencil skirt and matching V-neck crop top.
But although Bethany ordered the set in a large, the brand accidentally sent a size small of the top - and let's just say, she wouldn't have exactly been able to wear this out and about in public.
Bethany said: "I'm a size 12 but my top size can vary. I've lost a stone and a half in two months to be able to lose some boob because online shopping can be a nightmare.
"I was a 36HH but now I'm a 34G."
Unsurprisingly, Bethany's sister was similarly amused by the mishap and joked: "It's called Boohoo for a reason!"
However, the student - who is studying for a Master's degree at Newcastle University - had to re-order the outfit as Boohoo didn't reply to her complaint in time.
"I had to re-order it and pay delivery again so I was annoyed," she said. "I'm definitely going to stick with other companies from now on!"
Bethany has now urged other shoppers to think more carefully about where they spend their money.
She said: "I think curvy girls should be wary as these clothes are mass produced so they don’t care about the girls who aren’t the same size all over.
“I’ve always found shopping online an anxious experience anyway because it normally says ‘out of stock’ in sizes larger than a medium.
“It’s dreadful because the average UK size is something like a 16 but yet still companies don’t want to cater for bigger people.
“Beauty standards and the need to be aesthetically pleasing are being force fed to us by these companies and then they don’t even have clothes in size for all, so it’s no wonder young girls suffer with things like body dysmorphia and don’t like the way we look.
“That’s what fashion survives off - everyone wanting to look a certain way because they’ve been told to but that image doesn’t exist in reality.”
Boohoo has been approached for comment.
