Princess Beatrice ‘is set to marry multi-millionaire property tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi as early as next spring’, Ingrid Seward claims
A ROYAL expert has claimed that Princess Beatrice will soon announce her engagement to multi-millionaire boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
They may have only been dating for under a year, but the Queen’s granddaughter, 31, is said to have been looking happier than she has in a long time.
Royal commentator Ingrid Seward, editor in chief of Majesty magazine, told : “They’re going to get married – I was told by a member of the family.
“I think a wedding as early as next spring or summer is likely.”
Princess Beatrice beamed as she joined the Queen in Balmoral with her family last week, so has the happy news been raised with Her Majesty?
Ninth in line to the throne, Princess Beatrice doesn’t have to ask the Queen’s permission to marry as Prince William and Prince Harry did.
However it is thought Princess Beatrice would have confided in the Queen as they have a close bond.
Ingrid added: “It’s possible they wanted to tell the Queen that Beatrice was engaged. They have to find a gap in her diary before they name the day and this would have been the ideal opportunity to discuss it.”
According to royal sources, Beatrice is ready to start a family with the property tycoon – and mum Sarah Ferguson is excited for a wedding.
A royal source told Fabulous Digital: “Princess Beatrice is head over heels in love and wants to marry as soon as possible and start a family.
WHO IS PRINCESS BEATRICE'S BOYFRIEND EDOARDO MAPELLI MOZZI?
The Duke and Duchess of York’s daughter is said to be “head over heels in love” with property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and friends claim they will soon be heading up the aisle.
Mozzi specialises in discreetly finding and developing multi-million pound homes for rich clients.
He also has a two year old son named Wolfie with ex-fiance Dara Huang.
Beatrice, who has not dated anyone else since splitting up from her boyfriend of ten years, American Dave Clark in 2016, met Edo at her sister Eugenie’s wedding last October.
Descended from Italian nobility, Edo is a Count whose father Alex was an Olympic skier in the early 1970s.
Edo has been a family friend of the Yorks for years and when his stepfather Christopher Shale – a close friend of former Prime Minister David Cameron – died in 2011, Andy, Sarah, Bea and Eugenie all went to the funeral.
“Fergie is hardly able to contain her motherly delight at another York wedding in Windsor.”
And Sarah Ferguson, 59, whose own marriage to Prince Andrew, 59, broke down in 1996, isn’t the only family member to be excited for a potential upcoming wedding.
The source added: “Eugenie and Jack are delighted that Beatrice has found a caring man, despite his relationship pitfalls” – referring to breaking off his previous engagement with ex-partner Dara Huang.
Beatrice has been going out with Edo, who specialises in discreetly developing multi-million pound homes for rich clients, since around the nuptials of Princess Eugenie last October.
A friend told The Sun that they “hit it off instantly”.
Edoardo, 34, has even moved in with Beatrice at St James Palace and also impressed her parents after joining them at the Bahrain Grand Prix in April.
They’ve even been to their first wedding together, in Tuscany in July, and stayed in one of his family’s houses in Kenya at the beginning of the year.
The source added: “Beatrice was delighted to find herself in the company of easy on the eye Edo and they started dating under the radar almost immediately.”
They went public with their relationship in March, after Princess Beatrice attended a charity fundraiser at the National Portrait Gallery with her new beau.
But both Edo and Beatrice’s previous relationships weren’t all plain-sailing.
The tycoon popped the question to Dara, the mother of his two-year-old son Wolfie, in 2015, but the romance wasn’t to last.
The source said: “Almost overnight, Chinese-American fiancee Dora became Edo’s ex fiancee.
“The talented Harvard-educated architect had been planning her idyllic wedding to Edo but was unceremoniously dumped.”
Bea and Edo began their romance even though he was still sharing his London home with Dara.
Meanwhile, Beatrice has been single since splitting from her American boyfriend Dave Clark in 2016 after a decade together.
The split was thought to be over the princess’s keenness to wed.
Descended from Italian nobility, Edo is a Count whose father Alex was an Olympic skier in the early 1970s.
Edo has been a family friend of the Yorks for years and when his stepfather Christopher Shale – a close friend of former Prime Minister David Cameron – died in 2011 at Glastonbury, Andy, Sarah, Bea and Eugenie all went to the funeral.
Bookmakers are also tipping an engagement as imminent, with BeMyBet listing odds at 2/5 for an engagement announcement before the end of 2019, and Ladbrokes slashing odds to 1/2 for a 2020 wedding.
If the couple do get engaged soon, it’ll be the fourth high-profile wedding ceremony in under two years.
It’ll follow Prince Harry’s day last May, Eugenie’s October wedding, and Lady Gabriella Windsor’s nuptials in May 2019.
We shared how Prince Harry’s ex Ellie Goulding will invite royal cousins Beatrice and Eugenie to her wedding – but Harry & Meghan Markle unlikely to be there.
And we revealed back in April Eduardo has moved in to Princess Beatrice’s home in St James’ Palace.
