Bride punches her kilt-wearing husband after he sits on her knee during the reception and leaves a POO stain on her dress
LET'S face it - other than professing your undying love for your other half, your wedding day is pretty much an excuse to have a big party with your nearest and dearest.
And while we're sure most newlyweds will admit to having perhaps a little TOO much fun at their wedding reception, one red-faced groom has given all new meaning to the term "messy drunk" after he accidentally left a poo stain on his wife's wedding dress.
The unfortunate incident was first detailed in a local Scottish newspaper report and has since been shared on .
In traditional Scottish fashion, the groom Angus McClure wore a kilt without pants for the wedding which took place in Greenock, Renfrewshire.
However, his traditional choice of attire spectacularly backfired when he, erm, "perched his poorly-wiped backside" on his bride Sarah Grant's pristine white dress.
And let's just say, there was no hiding the "unsightly smear" left behind.
Infuriated by her new husband's oversight the report then claims that Sarah took a "swipe at Angus" which caused a fight to break out between the two families.
After the police were called to the scene, a source said: "I've been a police officer in Greenock for nearly 20 years and so I've seen a lot of wedding parties turn nasty but this was something else."
The report then claims that seven people were arrested at the reception - but fortunately Angus and Sarah reconciled after they sobered up and can't even remember the details of the incident.

Needless to say, Reddit users couldn't decide whether to be amused or mortified by the wedding horror story.
"Some might say this was a s***ty way to start their relationship," one joked. "But really it was just a streak of bad luck."
Another added: "That sounds like an awesome wedding to me! Everyone so drunk they can't remember a massive melee over a skid mark on a wedding dress."
