IT'S safe to say that Princess Charlotte totally and utterly stole the show at the sailing regatta last week.
In an adorable video, the Duchess of Cambridge, 37, encouraged her four-year-daughter to wave at onlookers in Cowes, Isle of Wight – but the princess had other ideas and cheekily stuck her tongue out instead.
However, it has now appears that Kate was actually pointing out her father Michael Middleton who was standing in the crowds.
At the beginning of the video, Charlotte can be seen searching for her grandfather among the onlookers.
After her mother pointed him out, the Princess playfully stuck her tongue out at her grandfather - a response both Kate and photographers found hilarious.
The sweet footage - which was uploaded to Instagram by InStyleMagazine - was praised by royals fans, with parents relating to Kate's "fantastic response".
Many amused parents were quick to gush over the clip, with one saying: “Just a normal child! You can’t control their every move. Kate's response was fantastic!”
One said: “I love Kate's reaction”, and another said “Kate blows my mind with her grace here! She is so beautiful.”
However, body language expert Judi James told Fabulous Digital said that granny Carole Middleton wants to "nip Charlotte's naughtiness in the bud" as she leads her granddaughter away.
Keen to get involved in the regatta, Michael was spotted earlier in the day on a boat with wife Carole, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
