Michelle Mone’s pampered daughter says money is pointless as she swaps her glam life for a stay in one of Glasgow’s roughest estates

THE DAUGHTER of millionaire bra entrepreneur Baroness Michelle Mone says money is pointless if you're not "happy and healthy".

Bethany Mone, 20, made the comments as she travelled to Glasgow's East End, where her mother grew up, for Channel 4's Born Famous.

Usually, the vlogger - who regularly shares her lavish lifestyle with her 27k Instagram followers - lives in the Scottish city with her father, who split from Michelle, 47, after 20 years in 2011.

However, Bethany also spends time on her mum's £120m mansion on the Isle of Man, which she shares with billionaire fiancé Doug Barrowman.

In the programme, which sees the offspring of self-made celebrities return to the more deprived areas their parents were raised in, she visits Bridgeton.

Last year, the council ward was deemed to be one of the poorest areas in Europe, with a child born in the area ten times as likely to grow up in a jobless household compared to the city's western suburbs.

They are also three times more likely to suffer heart disease, and four times more likely to be hospitalised.

In contrast, Bethany - who was educated at Glasgow's £11,000-a-year St Aloysius' College - has previously said she would "live in hotel dressing gowns if I had the choice", and once ordered a pair of £770 Saint Laurent heels "cause shoes are my best friend".

While in Bridgeton, she stays with 19-year-old trainee joiner Jack and his family - including mum Violet, who has acute arthritis, and dad Andy, her carer.

The teenager is currently unemployed after an underlying heart condition caused him to pass out while he was working on a building site during an apprenticeship scheme.

During the show, Bethany admits that money is no use if you're not "happy and healthy".

She tells the camera: "Who cares if you have all the money. What's the point? What's the good of it?"

Her mum, who is believed to be worth £47m, founded the Ultimo lingerie brand in 1996 before selling it in 2014.

Bethany has an older sister Rebecca, 26, and 22-year-old brother, Declan.

In a 2015 interview Michelle spoke about her youngest child's modelling ambitions, revealing: "She wants to be signed by Storm modelling agency and she loves the Kardashians."

Other children of the stars to appear on the series - which has been dubbed "poverty porn" - include Gordon Ramsay's son Jack, 18, and Mel B's 20-year-old daughter Phoenix.

Born Famous featuring Bethany Mone airs on Monday 19 August at 10:30pm on Channel 4.

Yesterday, we told you how a mum has demanded parents pay £70 in order for their children to attend her son's birthday party.

We also revealed how a mum has been accused of "poor parenting" and been told to "toughen up" after revealing she still lets her six-year-old daughter use a dummy.

And you can now buy a £20 Dyson vacuum cleaner for your kids that actually works.
