MEGHAN Markle can never return to acting because "Prince Harry won't want to see her kissing someone else", Kevin Costner has claimed.
During an interview on Lorraine, the Bodyguard actor says the Duchess of Sussex shouldn't return to screens as an actress now that she's married.
He explained: "It would be hard. Why? Because if you're Harry - and he seems like a great guy - it's like, that's why I'm not married to an actress.
"I don't want to see my wife kissing somebody. I'm on Harry's side."
Before he married handbag designer Christine Baumgartner in 2004, Kevin was married to actress Cindy Costner from 1978 until 1994.
The actor also said that the pressure of being in the Royal Family would be too much for Meghan to make her return to acting.
The 64-year-old star added: "There's so much thought that goes into number one, being a wife, and then being in this circle that I don't even understand - Royalty."
Before she married into the Royal Family last year, Meghan Markle achieved worldwide fame for her role as Rachel Zane in legal drama Suits.
The Duchess has recently come under fire for demanding privacy during an appearance at Wimbledon and guest-editing the September issue of Vogue.
Speaking on behalf of Meghan's American fans, the A-List star added: "We watch it from across an ocean and sometimes don't understand what's going on.
"She's had enough attention for a lifetime now, in one year."
The Robin Hood actor was quizzed on Meghan's acting career after interviewer Ross King asked him about Princess Diana's potential role in The Bodyguard 2.
Confirming that there were discussions with the late Princess for her to make an appearance in the sequel, Kevin revealed that her sister-in-law Sarah Ferguson had set up the meeting.
He said: "Sarah was really instrumental in that.
"Something I always admired about Sarah was how open she was to that idea [...] and clearly how much she liked Diana.
"When we lost her, that was tragic. Incredibly tragic and private to me actually. I didn't talk about it, somebody else talked about and that's how the story bubbled up."
After Diana's death in 1997, Kevin said that Sarah never "even hinted" at replacing Diana in the second Bodyguard movie and praised her for being "really incredibly respectful".
The actor reportedly received the script for the Bodyguard sequel the day before Princess Diana died in a car crash in Paris in August 1997.
