Groom blasted for wearing shorts and trainers to his wedding – as people joke he was ‘mowing the lawn at 2pm, getting married at 3pm’
A WEDDING guest has slammed a groom who chose to wear shorts and trainers to get married.
Taking to the Facebook group they shared a snap of the newlywed leaving fellow group members baffled.
Hand-in-hand with his bride the groom cuts a smart appearance on his upper half, dressed in a white dress shirt and peach coloured tie.
However, he has gone against traditional formal wear, choosing to pair it with cream cotton shorts and trainers, finished with a pair of sports socks.
Meanwhile his bride has stuck to a classic lace bridal gown, albeit opting for a peach shade over traditional white.
The photo was flooded with hundreds comments from Facebook users at a loss as to why he had chosen such an informal ensemble.
Why would you wear a grimy looking pair of sneakers to your wedding and pair them with grandpa socks?
One joked: “When you have to mow the lawn at two and a wedding at three.”
Another witty commenter added: “Did he just wrap up painting a house?”
“Why would you wear a grimy looking pair of sneakers to your wedding and pair them with grandpa socks?” a third wrote.
And a fourth added: “I will never be ok with shorts at a wedding like seriously??
“I can’t think of a situation where that’s appropriate especially when the bride has clearly put in her effort to look nice… it’s just disrespectful.”
The Facebook group is the largest of the wedding shaming variety boasting over 120,000 members worldwide.
You can critique dresses, decorations and of course, dramatic brides who are kindly dubbed “bridezillas”.
