CONFESSION time: if there’s one thing we find more uncomfortable than submerging ourselves into a freezing cold pool on holiday, it’s having to not-so-subtly pull our bikinis bottoms down as we climb out afterwards.

Well it turns out, we should have been focusing on the ladder going in and out of the water as celebs have perfected a little Instagram pose we like to call the “Sexy Step-Up”.

From Rita Ora to Love Island cast members old and new, you have to admit this is a pretty universally flattering pose.

Whether you’re at the bottom of the stairs looking up at the camera or trying your best to seem candid as you lower yourself into the water, this effortlessly cool pose involves casually clinging on to the railings.

Side note: we’re in total awe of these celebs who are able to hold a straight face while they’re stepping into chilly water.

Although it might seem like a pretty simple pose, there’s a lot more that goes into it than you’d think.

First things first: you’ve got to decide whether you’re standing at the top of the ladder with arms resting on the rails or fully submerged in the water at the bottom.

Love Island stars Laura Anderson, Montana Brown, and Malin Andersson are big fans of the former.

Meanwhile, Kaz Crossley took the pose up a notch by bending her knee as if she was just about to get out of the pool when someone spontaneously decided to take a photo. The stuff of Instagram magic.

Alternatively, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Khloe Kardashian and Kady McDermott have gone for the ever-so-natural “I was just going for a quick dip” vibe at the bottom of the stairs.
