Royal fans praise Kate and William’s ‘classy’ birthday Instagram post to Meghan Markle applauding them for ‘not just writing a comment’ like the Sussexes
MEGHAN Markle turned 38 today and received hundreds of birthday wishes from friends, family and fans alike.
And among those were Prince William and Kate Middleton who have been praised by royal fans for their “classy” message.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a snap of themselves with the Sussexes in Sandringham last Christmas accompanied with the caption “Wishing a very happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex today! 🎈”
And fans were quick to applaud the couple for posting a photo rather than just writing a comment as the Sussexes have previously done on royal birthdays.
Commenting on their post today, one fan wrote: “Fitting gesture, well done team Cambridge.”
“And that’s why you are my favourite royals, classy” agreed another.
A third agreed adding: “Well, this is how our royals act, not just posting comments, love the Cambridge.”
Another wrote: “Seriously all the royal accounts wished her a proper birthday wish!! Something that she (Meghan) couldn’t do for them!”
Clarence House and The Royal Family accounts did also post birthday tributes to Meghan on Instagram today.
The Sussexes have previously posted a tribute to The Queen on her 93rd birthday but otherwise they normally leave their birthday wishes to fellow royals in the form of a comment on Instagram.
The Sussexes did not have their own account for Kate’s birthday in January, but were accused of being too "formal" when commenting on William's birthday tribute in June.
The couple wrote: "Happy Birthday to The Duke of Cambridge!"
Just two weeks earlier Meghan and Harry affectionately referred to Prince Philip as "grandpa" as they wished him a very happy 98th birthday.
And Meghan and Harry were accused of "having no respect" for Prince George on his birthday last month.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a cute message from their @sussexroyal Instagram account to celebrate their nephew's sixth birthday.
In response to Kensington Palace's post which featured three new heartwarming snaps of Prince George, Meghan and Harry wrote: "Happy Birthday! Wishing you a very special day and lots of love!"
Fans were been up in arms over the message and accused the couple of being "disrespectful" by not calling Prince George by his name or using his royal title.
Meghan is expected to have a "low-key" celebration at Frogmore Cottage today, according to an insider.
The royal source told Fabulous Digital the Duchess of Sussex will not want anything extravagant after the “PR disaster” following her opulent £300,000 baby shower in New York.
The source told Fabulous Digital that Meghan will avoid partying with pals Amal and George Clooney, and said: “Frogmore Cottage will host a celebration for Meghan's birthday.
“The Clooney clan will be in Villa Oleandra on Lake Como and the Sussexes will not want to be seen enjoying more of their lavish hospitality after the PR disaster backlash post the US baby shower.”
In the wake of an alleged feud between the Fab Four – following the split of the royal households and foundation – the source added that Meghan may not invite Kate Middleton to her birthday.
The insider said: “It is unlikely that the Cambridges will be invited to Meghan's 38th birthday on Sunday.”
