Savvy mum-of-three says it’s important to have a 40 minute ‘cooking and cleaning schedule’ each day in order for a house to run smoothly
A MUM-OF-THREE has revealed how she keeps her house looking constantly spotless with one handy trick.
Amira Youssef, 28, has explained how she cleans every day in a strict 40-minute window to stay on top of the mess.
Speaking to , the woman from Sydney in Australia, detailed how she never has to spend hours and hours scrubbing her home.
“I clean as I cook in the kitchen to help reduce time spent cleaning after dinner,” she said.
“Then, when the three kids have gone to bed, I spend just 40 minutes – never a second more – on tidying up the house and packing my husband and kids’ lunches for the next day.”
By keeping on top of it every day, she only needs to do a “deep clean” every Saturday – and still has time every evening to relax.
Amira – who runs the website – regularly shares posts of her gorgeous home to her 35k followers.
She revealed that while she has always been naturally organised, having kids has forced her to up her game.
This extends to family meals, which she’ll decide on up to a fortnight in advance.
“Every second Sunday evening, I meal plan for the next two weeks – as well as writing up a grocery list of what is needed as this helps to avoid over-spending which then results in food wastage,” she explained.
The savvy mum bulk-buys meat to freeze and keeps fruit and vegetables in silicone bags in fridge to extend their shelf-life and reduce wastage.
As a result, the family’s food bill is approximately £83 a week.
To keep her home in check, Amira regularly de-clutters and gets rid of unused items.
She also recommends grouping together similar items in the house so you know where to find them.
