Royal fans accuse Prince Harry of having a ‘dig’ at brother William after saying he’ll only have ‘two children maximum’ in eco-awareness Vogue chat
ROYAL fans have accused Prince Harry of having a “dig” at his brother Prince William after he said he’ll have “two children maximum”.
The Duke of Sussex, 34, opened up about his family plans in a candid eco-awareness chat for wife Meghan Markle’s guest-edited issue of Vogue.
Harry spoke about his passion for future generations, climate change and his love for nature as he spoke with conservationist Jane Goodall in the Q&A.
the new dad explained: “I think, weirdly, because of the people that I’ve met and the places that I’ve been fortunate enough to go to, I’ve always had a connection and a love for nature.
“I view it differently now, without question.
“I’ve always wanted to try and ensure that, even before having a child and hoping to have children…”
It was here that Dr Goodall jumped in, saying she hoped Harry and Meghan, 37, would have “not too many” kids.
Harry – who welcomed son Archie in May – replied: “Two, maximum!
“But I’ve always thought: this place is borrowed.
“And, surely, being as intelligent as we all are, or as evolved as we all are supposed to be, we should be able to leave something better behind for the next generation.”
Harry’s plans for two children is in stark contrast to William, 37, and wife Kate Middleton, who are parents to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Over on Twitter, people expressed confusion over Harry’s choice of words.
One wrote: “Wow now Harry says it’s bad to have 3 children….dig at W&K? [sic].”
Another said: “So Prince Harry says he’s only having 2 kids for sake of the environment. What’s he saying about his brother?”
Others added: “What’s he trying to say about his big brother? Prince William has three kids,” and: “If Prince Harry wants to have two kids to save the planet did he just say Prince William has too many kids?”
But some disagreed, saying they didn’t believe Harry was referring to any other parent’s decision.
One tweeted: “I don’t believe that was his intention. He was answering Jane about the number of children he would like to personally have in his nuclear family.”
“If you cannot understand what Harry meant in the interview you need to practice your reading comprehension skills,” another message read.
“It’s clear that he isn’t talking badly about parents who have more than two children or whatever people are inventing now.”
In more royal news, rarely-seen footage of the Queen running after a young Prince William at Fergie and Andrew’s wedding has gone viral.
Prince Harry has worn the same J Crew blazer 24 timessince meeting Meghan Markle.
