RECIPE FOR DISASTER

Hopeless boyfriend needs other half to send photos of products AND a list to do the weekly shop

WE’VE all been there – you’ve sent your partner out to the shops on a quick errand and they’ve come back with something totally different.

Well one savvy woman has come up with a genius method for making sure her boyfriend nails the weekly shop – and we don’t know how we ever thought of it before.

Lerato Kgamanyane, from South Africa, says she has to send her boyfriend product pictures or his food shop will be ‘a mess’

Along with texting her boyfriend a shopping list of everything they need, Lerato Kgamanyane – who uses the handle @Rato_K – admits to sending photos of the specific products she wants in a viral .

Sharing a video of herself scrolling through their WhatsApp feed, Lerato, who lives in South Africa, wrote:”He struggles so much with grocery shopping so pictures have to accompany the list or it’ll just be a mess.”

But this is far more than just being picky about your favourite brand of chocolate – Lerato had to screengrab each and every product she needed for their dinner.

And like the true #girlboss she is, she even prepared her partner with product images of substitute ingredients if the supermarket didn’t have her first choice.

Although we can kind of understand why Lerato’s boyfriend would need a little push in the right direction when it came to picking out her favourite flavour of tonic water, her guidance did seem little extreme at first.

For instance, she even had to send him pictures of a pepper and tinned tomatoes to ensure he’d buy the correct ones.

However, it all started to make sense when he asked if a punnet of grapes was what she meant by grapefruit (yes really) and said the supermarket were out of fish stock when it was actually just staring him in the face.

Luckily for him, Lerato finds it all very “cute” – but other Twitter users weren’t all that impressed.

In case you were wondering why Lerato has to go to these extents, her boyfriend asked if a punnet of grapes was what she meant by grapefruit…

Lerato even had to show her boyfriend what a pepper looked like while he took photos of the supermarket shelves for reassurance

“How are these kinds of men even surviving in the real world?” one outraged user asked.

Another added: “Nothing cute here… grow up!”

However, others could seriously relate to Lerato’s struggle – with one revealing she gets a play-by-play of her partner’s food shop on FaceTime.

Revealing their own shopping fail, a third wrote: “”I was making breakfast once and I sent my husband to go buy mushrooms, he came back with marshmallows…”

Yet others suspected that Lerato’s partner is being useless on purpose to get out of future shopping trips.

They wrote: “This man is a genius and you guys don’t get it, he is acting like he doesn’t know how to do it so he doesn’t have to get sent to the store anymore.”
